Wealthy was I, possessed of many friends, A nation honoured what this tomb defends; Yet while by thee is born to future days In cold, grand state my name and fame and
praise, O, marble! tell how sweet would be my sleep If one fond heart might o'er my ashes weep. May, 1898. — H. J. B.
