Mr A Marshall, Dunedin, writes on Augutt 9 j " In Problem 1479, by Mr Lejrgatt, at the thirteenth move he plays 7 10 for white, and besides giving about 40 more moves he leaves White to win by ' second position. 1 By playing 711 and holding the two single men with his king, he has only to crown his two single men and block Black's kiae in the double corner." ■ . ..
