THE ACHILLES MINE. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
Arrowtown, June 8. Mr Fred Evans, general manager of the mine, reports that splondid stone has been struck in No. 6 level 100 ft below No. 5 level. The Secretary of the Clyde Dredging Company (Limited) informs us that the dredge started work yesterday at the lower end of the Grand Junction claim. Ou Saturday the Ettrick dredge washed up for l&Joz, which is about two and a-half times the return for the previous week. The Roxburgh dredge's return for last week's work was 6oz.
