Friday, February 5.

The adjourned meeting of the Eoard of Conciliation w^s held in the Supreme Court at 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon. All tho members of the board were present— namely, .Messrs W. A. Sim (president), G. P. Farquhar, J. A. Millar, M.H.It., G. L. Sise, aud li. Ferguson. Mr Belcher, the secretary and representative of the Seamen's Union, and Messrs James Mills (managing director of the Union Steam Ship Company) and Mr Keith Ramsay were also in attendance. After conference and consultation amongst the members of the board and the parties to the dispute extending over half an hour, Mr Sim said : There is a prospect of an arrangement being come to between the parties, and ?o ihe board has determined to adjourn until 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon.
