WELLINGTON EXHIBITION.
CLOSING CEREMONY. Wellington, February 3. The Wellington Industrial Exhibition, which opened on November 18, was closed this evening, the building being packed to witness the closing ceremony, which waa performed by Lady Glasgow. Mr S." Brown gave, on behalf of the committee, an account of their stewardship, »hjwing that the exhibition had been a great sucoeas, not only financially, bub also to manufacturers and producers. He said that; in the 11 weeks for whioh the exhibition had been open about. 180,000 persons had attended, and he anticipated that when the buildings wara sold there would be a surplus nearly of £2500. He presented Lady Glasgow with a silver key, as a memento of thn closing ceremony ; and Lord Glasgow, on behalf of the committee, presented air Brown with a handsome tea service. Mr Brown expressed the opinion that •mall exhibitions such sa that juifc closing were of far greater benefit to the colony than larger ones.
