FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Thomas Paterson and Co., fruit and prodiice agents, Manao street, report for the week ending May 6 :—
Fruit. — Market is quite bare of apples and pears. We strongly advise growers to forward consignments at once, as extreme values can be obtained. Applet : Cookers, 8* to 7s 6d ; dessert, 7s to 9a; imported, 12s. Bananas, 2sd to 2Jd. Oranges (fuJl supply) : D.E Tahiti, 6s to 6s 6d ; Island, 5s ,6d to 6s. Grapes, 8d to lOd for prime quality. Tomatoes : Hothouse, 4d. Peanuts, 3Jd. Cocoanuts, 12a. Lemons : Italian, 30j per double case. New dates, figs, prunes, crystallised ginger,
Produce.— Eggs : Exceedingly scarce. Butter : Fresb, 6d to 8d ; prime salt, 7}d to Bd. Bacon : Roll, sid to s|d (regular supply of choice quality). Hams, 7d. Cheese : Factory, 3Jd to 4d ; dairy, 3d to 4d. Honey, 31 d to 4d. Beeswax, Is Id. Potatoea. : Derwents* £2 15» to £3. Onions, £8 to £9. Poultry received any day for sale. .
