GRAIN RETORT.

Messrs William E. Reynolds -and Co., Bond street, report for the week ending 6tb May as follows :—

Wheat : We have no change to report. Market keeps very steady at— for velvet, 3s 7d ; Tuscan, S» 6d j red sorts, 3s 3d to 3s 5d ; and fowl feed, up to 3s 2d. Oats are still on the upward course, owing to farmers holding uo firmly, and we can ?uote prime milling Is 9Jd to Is 9}d ; prime feed, s 9A; ordinary, Is BJd ; inferior. Is 7d to Is Bd. Regarding prospects we do not care to say much,' for it seems to us it is quite impossible to say how the market will go; but we would be more Burprised to see it fall than advance. The shipping trndo is none too brisk, and this limits the demand. At tbe same time, so few lines are being placed oa the market that a ready outlet can be found for them. Barley : What we reported in our last still holds good— viz. : that prices are easier,^ and North Island buyers full ormaily so, having purchased in Blenheim and elsewhere owing to quotations luliug h<»re a. month ago being so high. We have Bold large lines during tbe past week at— for Lakes, 3a QA ; prime local, 3s 6J to 3a 7d ; good sound, 3a to 3s 3d ; ordinary ia hardly saleable, And feed and milling moves off slowly at 2s to 2a 4d. Chaff has inquiry, is prime and dry, and maintains its price of £2 10s to £2 12s 6d, with ordinary £2 5s to £2 7a 6d. Potatoes also have inquiry at up to £2 15t for best, and' for ordinary £2 7s 6d to £2 10s per ton. Special.

We would ask our many clients lo note that we have shifted our offices to more commodious premises, with further store accommodation attached, in Bond street, next to Meiers Kirk and Co., and opposite the site on which the new large Agricultural Hall is beiQg erected. <
