AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE.
Adelaide:, May 2. The conferenoe of Ministers of Agriculture was conducted in private. The resolutions are to be r«M«rved for the consideration of the various Governments. It is understood ' that the conferenoe were unanimous that the question of the exportation of produce was a subject; for federal action, because the errors of one colony would endanger the success of the others. It was hoped that uniform action would be arranged.- It was decided that all meat shipped from- Australia should be sound • and free from disease ; that there be a uniform system of inspection and of marking dairy produce, fruit, and wines ; and, if possible, to adopt a federal brand. May 4s. The Agricultural Conference has adopted resolutions in favour of combined action for the better exploring of the world's markets for Australian produce, a federal exhibit at the principal English agricultural shows, r and federal action towards improving the methods of marketing produce locally, the branding of stook, and the stamping out of fruit pests.
