STRATH-TAIERI SHEEP DOG CLUB.
Judges : Messrs D. M'Donald, G. Sutherland. J. .Ki-aser, IX M'Phee. Stewards ; Messrs J. C. Buckland, G. Maider, W. Bennett, 0. D. Smith, and M. Matheson. Tbe first meeting of the above club was held at the Six-mile (near Middlemarch) on Thursday and Friday la«t. The club was very unfortunate in having a bad day for the first event, but the second day the weather was all (hat could be desired.- The work done the first day was very creditable considering the state of the weather,. as it was blowing a regular StrathTaieri gale, and it was impossible to make the dogs hear. In Class II tho wofk was of euch a high order that the judges had some difficulty in giving their decision, all the sheep being yarded. The work done by Mr A Matheson's Scud was perfect. The th^uks of the club are due to Messrs M'Kay Bros for the oce of sheep and the ground, also to Mr J C. Buckland for sheep. There was a fair attendance of the public, and Mr Calder catered in a manner that wojild have satisfied the palates of the most fastidious. Trotter's Crib.
