The directors of the Mataura Dairy Factory have under consideration a proposal to erect a creamery and embark upon the butter-making industry. The w yndham Farmer says the Edendale Dairy Factory is etili receiving a good supply of milk, tbe daily tally now being 1600 gal. On Saturday, 25th ult , 350 cases cheese were despatched from the factory to London by the lonic. The Bruce Herald s^ys that a good many sheep are now being.sent away from the Tokomairiro district. On Saturday 29 trucks, containing 1149 store sheep, left Milton for the Waihao Downs estate, South Waitaki, for re-stocking purposes. Southern papers tell how Mr William Ronald, Waianiwa, ass lost a good horse, and hits other two very sick A sheep-dip cask had been thoroughly cleansed and placed under a down pipe to catch rain water, it being supposed that all deleterious matter had been wasVci out. The staves of the cask had, however, retained sufficient poison to cause Mr Ronald this serious loss through the horses drinking the water.
