PENINSULA.
May 4.— The regularr monthly meeting of the Koad Board, held at the board's office, Highcliff, on Saturday, was attended by Messrs Stuart (chairmen), Fairbairn, M'Curdy, Rowe, and Murr*y. It was resolved— " That if those who had received notice to cut down overhanging branches and trim hedges did not begin the work luring the week the chairman be authorised to
pdt a man on to do the work." Mr Shaw appeared to ask to have his road put in order. It was decided that on Mr Shaw paying in £5 becoming due the board undertakes to expand the £5 on the road. A discussion arose over the supply of Buy metal. It was stated that tenderers had been informed that 67yds of grey meW would be required, and in tendering had put in a lower all-rcuud price in consequence. The clerk was directed to advertise notice of intention to strike a rate of |d in the pound. The chairman was asked to wait on the board's bankers to aak for a reduction in the >ate charged on overdraft. Accounts for £77 10s were passed for payment.
