Heard Better Abroad.
An Australian gentleman, *fc present in London, was aslted how he liked England ? " Very much indeed," he replied ; " but," he continued, " there is one thing I miss in Euglaud." "And what is that?" " You will be muoh surprised to hear what it is," said he. "It is," he added, " the absence of English news. 1 sea yon laugh. In Australia we get the cream ot English news, nicely oompretsed into a ' tasty telegraphic cheese/ if I may uao the expression. In your papers here ycu have to wade through much longer columns than we do in Australia even to get an inkling of what is going on. Id reality I am— now chat I am in England — far more igoonmfc of what is goiug on in Europe than I should ba were I on my sheep station 16,000 miles away. It is curious, but it is nevertheless true." Who after th's will contradict (he saying that ''you must go from home to hear English news " ?
