To a Young; Wife.
A task untried, ft path unknown You enter on 10-day ; Your heart no more shall sink alone Or leap in freedom giy. No more alone, no more apart, But with that dearer one You share together, heart with heart, Life's shadow and its sun. True love can make a track of light Acres the deaerfc grey, And love is shining warm and bright On this your bridal day. And love will twine in these glad houn Of happiness and song Those fragrant amaranthine flowers That bloom a whole life long. And yet unknown must be the path On which to-day you go, And all the joys the future hatli Tbe years to come must show. Yet you shall feel no more apart, The sweetest thought of all Is youra— " I have a kindred heart, Wliatever may bef:dl ! " And mark— as long aa life endures Let nothing conic between The sunshine of his heart and yours, But walk in faith serene. Theu you shall never walk alone Or sigh for freedom gay Or weary of the path unknown You enter on to-day.
