TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — The letters appearing in your paper of late re the above subject are very misleading to the outside public : (1) The majority of the householders (not residents, as mentioned) are not against the new site; (2) the public meeting held on the 13th was neither representative nor unanimous against the removal of the school, the majority present not voting either way. Out of seven of the school committee there are only two against the new site. Why Mr Paulin should take such an interest in the matter is beyond my ken, as he does not send any of his children to the public school. So it is plain that it is not for the benefit of the children that he is against the new site. When we do get our school removed we will be able to get a game of cricket or football in the school grounds ; that is what we cannot get at present in our present site. lam sorry that some of the committee, or my father, or someone else, has not taken up this matter before, as this is the first letter I ever wrote to a newspaper. — I am, &c, Sixth Standard Boy (For the whole of my schoolfellows). Ngapara, January 23.
