RIFLE ASSOCIATION MEETING.

CiißisTcnußCit, December 6

The range on which the meeting of tho Rifle Association takes placo is situated at llillsborough, in the gully where the Rifle Association meeting of 1887 was held. It will, however, be arranged differently. On that occasion the competitors fired in a south-westerly direction. At the forthcoming meeting the firing will be towards the south-east. A 700 yds range can be obtained, and owing to the nature of the ground there is no necessity to construcb mounds at the firing points. The hill on which bhe Lytbelton reservoir stands protects the targets and the range to a great extent from the prevailing easterly winds, and at no time of the day will marksmen have to face the sun.
