CROWN LANDS SALE.
An auction sale of Crown lands was held at the Land Office on the sth inst., Mr W. Sessions acting in the capacity of auctioneer. There was only a moderate attendance and very little competition, all the allotments offered, with one exception, being sold at the upsec price. Sections in the townships of Dunkeld, Bastings, Pembroke, and Queenstown were put up for sale at the request of settlers, who, strange to say, did not appear to bid for them. Bot flies reported to be causing destruction of horses in Pahiatua.
