SPECIAL REMINDERS.

15th inst.— Nominations for the third day of the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting. Kith— Waiinea Plains and Lake County nominations. 20th — Southland acceptances and Clinton nominations. 2lbt— Cromwell acceptances and Gore nominations. The St. Batkans programme for December 2(5 is printed in this issue. There are eight races, the chief events being the St. Bathans Handicap of 3030VS and the Members' Handicap of 25sovs. The stakes are all worth winning, the distances are such as are popular with owners, and the meeting should be a pleasant one if the weather is at all favourable. The Mariiototo Jockey Club puts forward its Summer programme for January 24 aud 25. The principal event is the Naseby Cup of GO^ovp, a mile and a-half ; and then in order of value come the Three-mile Trot of 45;ovs, the newlyinaugurated Challenge Stakes of 40sovs, the President's Handicap of a like -v alue, the Trot and a half-mile Trot also of -10-sovs, and the Flying Handicap of 35sovs. These and other stakes on the programme are such as will probably attract interest to the meeting ; but it is to be regretted that thu club persists in stuffing out its bill of fare with such bogus races as the County Plato of 120sovs, and the Stewards' Purse of 75aovs. I feel bound to again record my protest against this evasion of the rules, inasmuch as it is unfair to other clubs, and the wonder is that tho Dunediu Jockey Club, in its capacity of metropulitan, should permit this unfairness to

take place. Nominations for tlie leading events close with Mr F. W. inder on January 8.
