EX-HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS? CLUB.

The annual meeting was held on Monday, when the following report was read :—": — " The club has now been in existence for 10 years, and bas at present a membership of 56 and a credit balancj of £15 5s 5Vd. Of the 10 meetings in the year five were devoted to music, three to lectures, and two to business The club is specially indebted to Dr Barnett, the Rev, Mr Melville, and the Rev. Mr Diggens for tht-ir kindness in lecturing to the club. During the j ear the club decided by a large majority to alter the syllabus and provide more means of intellectual improvement for its members. The recommendations received will be adopted next year by the new committee. The following office-bearers were elected : — President, Mrs Borrows (re-elected) ; vice-presidents, Mrs Ross (re-elected) and Miss Collinson ; secretary, Miss Monkiban ; treasurer, Mrs Moore ; committee —Mrs Isaacs, Misses Hepburn, (.iutbrie, Wales, Wise, Patrick, Strachan, and Campbell. '1 he Tennis Club has only joined the association since 18!)2, but it has so far given a satisfactory account of itself. In the New Zealand tournament the La 3ies' Handicap Doubles was won by Misses Muir and Campbell, and of tbe two matches played last year Kaituna was lost by only a few games, and wo gained a victory over Otago by 23 games. The following committee was appointed : — Misses Monkman, Guthrie, M. Hepburn, and Mrs Ross ; secretary, Miss Campbell. The club tournament was won by Miss M. Hepburn. The club has to thank Mr Malcolm Ross for his entertainment in aid of their funds, the Board of Governors for its douation of £0, and the gentlemen of the "Return Dance " Committee for their handsome cheque.

The following are the liabilities and assets in tbe estate of Edward James Worsdell, of Oaniaru, dealer :— Liabilities : Stronach Bros and Morris, ±'300 ; N.Z L. and MA. Company, £116 5s 7d ; Mutual Agency Company, £22 ; Union Steam Ship Company, £3 15s M ; National Mortgage and Agency Company, £10 4s Id ; J. C. Won-dell, £982 ; making with sums under £10 a total of £145J 18s Id. Messrs Stronach Bros, and Morris hold security over 10 bales of rabbitskins shipped to London and valued at £285. The assets are nil.
