WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, Millers, Grain, Produce, and Commission Agents, Manse street, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending May 3, 1893 :— Wheat : Fair inquiry for good lines of Tuscan and velvet ; medium quality not easily placed. Prime quality saleable at 2s 9d to 28 lOd; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Fowls' wheat : Good, whole grain, 2s 3d to 2s 4d ; medium, Is lid to 2s Id. Barley : Chevalier, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; Cape, 2s 9d to 3s, for'malting qualities. Oats have very good inquiry and are easily placed off trucks. We quote : Good milling. Is 8d to Is BJd; prime short feed, Is 7id to Is 8d ; other sorts, Is 6d to Is 7Jd. Ryecorn : Weareshippingperßangatira. Anylotsforwarded to Port Chalmers to our care will receive prompt attention. So far we have advice of some 800 sacks.-' Hops, Is f.o.b. Nelson. Potatoes : Good Derwents, 50s, and wanted (supplies short during the week); other qualities, 45s to 47s 6d. We could dispose of a few trucks. Pigs have fair inquiry, 4Jd to 4Jd for suitable sizes and quality. Chaff : Supply in excess of demand, prime, 45s to 47s 6d ; good, 408 to 42s 6d. Salt butter : Demand quiet, 7id to Bd, packages extra. Cheese in better demand, Akaroa (large), 4Jd to 4Jd ; factory, 4Jd to 4|d. We could place good quality. Hams and bacon : Bacon (rolled), 6Jd ; hams, 9d ; sides, 6Jd. Honey : Extracted, 561b tins, 4£d to 5d ; other sorts from 3Jd to 4Jd. Gr»Rs seeds : Ryegrass, 2s to 2s 6d ; machined up to 3i 3d ; old pasture to 3s 9d ; cocksfoot, 2Jd to 4d. Rabbitskins have our special attention, and top prices are returned. Summers, 7d to B£d ; autumns, B}d to 10J ; incoming and early winter greys, lOJd to 14d per lb.

We draw special attention to the stock of merchandise which we sell on Saturday next. Owing to the great number of lines we shall start at 11 o'clock sharp, with an adjournment of 15 minutes at 1 o'clock. We wish it to be distinctly understood that this is a bona fide clearing Bale, our instructions being to quit everything. The lines are such as are well suited to storekeepers and the trade generally, almost every class of goods being represented. The oak and Bilyerplated ware is of exceptionally superior quality ; there is also a quantity of lower grade. As near as we can estimate, the various goods will be offered at following times :— Fancy goods, low cutlery, and plated ware, 11 to 1; kapok, 1.15; high-class plated ware, 1.20 to 2.30 ; clocks, 2.30, after which chairs, crockery, glassware, blankets, &c, &c. Order of sale will be followed as per catalogues, which can be obtained at the rooms. Luncheon provided. Special acconaodation will be arranged for ladies.
