DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.
nWright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follow:— The demand to-day showed no improvement oa that of last week, but, notwithstanding, a fairly large number or horses of all classes changed •hands. All the draughts, with the exception of a very few-, were only of a medium description, aD& when owners were prepared to accept market rates no difficulty was experienced in selling them. Light horses were again at a discount, and after the few buyers that were present had satisfied their requirements sales were very difficult to make except for inferior sorts, which are always, saleable at a price. We quote': — For first-class, draughts (extra heavy), £25 to £30 ; good ordinarydraughts (young), £18 to £22 ;. medium draughts,. £12 to £16 ; aged draughts, £6 to £10 ; good hacks and harness horses, £12 to £16 ; medium hacks and harness horses, £7 to £9 ; light and inferior - hacks and harness horses, £2 10s to £5.
