REMINISCENCES OF THE EARLY FIFTIES.

TO THE BDITOB. Sir,— ln looking 'over your valuable paper the Witness the other night I read with great interest "Reminiscences of the Early Fifties," by R. R , and being one of the party, I enjoyed the narrative very much. I recollect well our trip to Mount Korong, or " Gfo Wrong," as we used to call it, and how we were enjoying our damper and mutton on a beautiful flat when we were surrounded by the bushrangers, riding on the prancing horses they stole at M'lntyre's station. There was nothing exciting on our way back. The bullock-drivers took plenty of time, and I was not sorry to part with them. I had a fine book and other presents in the bag that we blamed the scoundrels for planting till we left for Bendigo. If "R. R." will write me a few lines I shall call on him if about Dunedin or any way near. By inserting this in the Witness you will oblige. — I, am, &c, J. C. Millar, gardener, Outram. ! ["R.R." is unfortunately not in Otago, but on seeing this he will no doubt write to you.— • Ed.] .
