DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.
' Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : — The sale to-day was made up almost entirely of draught stock, but as there were no fresh horses advertised few buyers were present. Those that were came with the intention of buying draughts, and we succeeded in placing with them a fair portion of the horses of this class that were offered. For light-harness horses and hacks there was absolutely no demand. Among the horses sold were a pair of very nice draught mares, which fetched L 53, and good ordinary draughts, suitable for country work, fetched up to L2O. More horses could have been placed both for town and country work, and we think that if any of our country friends have stock of this description for sale they could no go wrong by bending them in now. We quote :— For hrst-class draughts (extra heavy), L 25 to L3O ; good ordinary draughts (young), LIB to L 22; medium draughts, Ll2 to JJ6; aged draughts, L 6 to L 10; good hacks and harnes* horses, Ll2 to Ll6 ; medium hacks find harness horses, L 7 to L 9: light and in» ferior hacks and harness horses, L2 loa to L 5,
