The annual meeting of the Roslyn Bowling Club was held at the Council Chambers on Friday night. Mr P. Duncan (president) occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance, about 25 members being present. The committee, in submitting their seventh annual report, congratulated the club on having completed a successful season. During the season the club had played 10 inter-club matches, also one against Victoria and one against Invercargill for the association's gold medal. The latter match was played on January 23—three rinks a-side— and won by the Roslyn olub by 21 points, thus securing the association's jmedal for the fourth time in succession — a result which had not been attained by another club in New Zealand. During the season the club had won eight games, lost three, and drawn one. The club had lost six members, and admitted nine, the total number of members on the roll now being 52. The committee recommended the advisability of admitting honorary members on paying an annual subscription of £1. Notwithstanding the large additional expenditure during the season, the cowmifctee congratulated the club on again having a satisfactory balance sheet, there being a small balance in hand, while the liabilities were nil. The balance sheet, which was submitted to the meeting, showed that the receipts for the year amounted to £64 2s Id, and the expenditure £62 10s 9d, there being a balance in hand of £1 11s 4<i. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr Alnutt, the report and balance sheet were adopted. The Chaieman then presented the following prizes to those gentlemen who had won them during the season : — President's prize, gold medal, won by Mr J. Corbett ; vice-presidents' prize, trophy givtn by Mr C. Aluutt, and won by Mr R. Chisholm ; vice-presidents' prize, pair of bowls, given by Mr S. N. Brown, and won by Mr R. T. Messrs Morrison and Dicke were appointed auditors ; and Messrs R. Crawford and Carlton delegates to the Bowling Association. Curling,— The ice was co strong at St. Bathans on the 26th of last month as to permit the keen, keen curlers of that place to indulge in the roarin' frame. No doubt in a few weeks' time ourling will be general throughout the district.
