The Australians in their second innings against Middlesex had lost eight wickets for 176 xuns, when play was stopped owing to the rain. Jones made 17, Ferris 17, Blackham 19, Turner 15, Gregory (not out) 53, Barrett (not out) 42. June 11. The following will represent the Players of England in the match against the Australians fixed for the 19th inst. : — Shrewsbury, Gunn, Flowers, Sherwin, Atiwell, Lohmann, Briggs, Peel, . Chatterton, Ulyett, and Maurice Read.
