RIVERSDALE.
June 10.- During the past few weeks the weather has been somewhat broken with a good deal of rain, and the ground Is now in better order for ploughing. The grain carting is now almost over, and still the roads are good. Farmers usually enjoy carting their grain, but this year it is a spiritless task, the low prices ruling being very disheartening with still no indication of better values being obtained. Grass pasture is fairly good, and the Btubble paddooks look much better from the reoent rain, which is, doubtless gratifying to stock owners. Sheep are in strong demand and bring In good returns to vendors. At last week's sales they showed an advance of 10 per cent, on prices ruling at last month's sales. Scholastic—The School Committee met on the 30th ult., there being present Messrs Cameron (chairman), Sangster, Stewart, Kennedy, and Smith (secretary). The teacher's report showed a satisfactory attendance, &o. It was resolved to grant the school for religious meetings at a charge of 2s 6d per night. Mr Sangster generously offered a load of wood for winter firing. Church.—The Presbyterian Church Committee met in the vestry on the evening of Saturday 31st ult., when there was a large attendance, Final arrangements weio outlinod for the soiree on the 3rd inst., and ib was resolved to hold congregational
