KOTES BY JACK. , At a crowded^meeting of the Napier Bowling Club on the 18th it was decided to take Bteps to form a North ' Island' Bowling Association on similar lines to the New Zealand Bowling Association. !
The annual dinner of the Fitzroy (Victoria) Bowling Club took place at Clement's Cafe on the 13th August. The chair, was occupied by Mr Charles Johnston. I)r Singleton, the vice-president, daring a speech of thanks took occasion to present the club with a framed likeneas (an enlarged photograph in colours) of the late Mr John Falconer, the club's treasurer, and one of its founders. The following is the list of prizes presented, and the names of the winners: — The president's prize (a gold pendant), to Mr Bricknell ; the vice-president's prizes (a pair of silver-mounted bowls), to Mr Hamilton, and a trophy valued at Sgs, to Mr Hall ; the champion prize, to Mr Maddox ; the Aitkea trophy (a diamond bracelet and two services of silver knives and forks), to Mr H. W. Meakin ; the Brown and Gillard goldmounted pipes, to Mr W. Hunter ; the president's gold medals for the most successful rink in the inter- club contests, to Mr Meakin's rink, composed of Messrs Cook. Carr, Stanford, and Meakin,
