Sydney, January 28.— Flour : The market remains firm for old descriptions. South Australian, town brands, £9 15s per ton; country, £9 ss; Victorian, £9 to £9 10a ; New South Wales, £9 5s to £10 ; roller and special makes, £9 10s to £10 15s ; new flour from 58 to 10s per ton less. Wheat : In this market some large sales of South Australian have taken place at about 3s 9d (sacks included). New South Wales and Victorian parcels', 3s 6d to 3s 9d per bushel ; fowls' -wheat, 2s 9d to 3s. Oats : Unchanged at 2s Id to 2s 2d. Barley : Cape seed (prime), 3s to 3s 3d. Maize •. Good lots free from weevil sell at 3s lOd to 4s per bushel. Bran: Slow of sale at 6jd to 7d. Pollard, 7d to 7sd per bushel. Chaff ; Heavy supplies from Adelaide and Victoria ; best New South Wales, £i to £1 17s 6d per ton ; Adelaide or Viotorian £4 10s to £i 12s fid. Melbourne, January 28. — Flour : Moderate business done at £3 to £8 10s for country makes of stone-made, and up to £9 10s per ton for roller, according to brand. Wheat: Sale 3 during the week have been effected at b id to 3s 4d, chiefly at the former rate, but the tone of the market is week, as millers are not disposed to exceed 3s per bushel, and shippers are not operating. OatB : The market remains firm, tlje demand being good and supplies not excessive. Almost the whole of the consignment by New Zealand steamer sold at 3s per bushel (ex wharf). About 3000 bushels have been sold at from 2s U j<j to 3s Id for New Zealand grown. Viotorian grown Danish,2ssJd to 2s 9jd ; Calcutta, 2soid to 2s 2d ; good thinnish Tartarian, 2s 7d. Barley : Malting is firm and some activity has been shown by purchasers, especially in the country districts; prices have ranged from 4s 7d up to ss, according to sample. Cape barley is also in good demand, and considerable parcels have been sold at from as 8d up to 2s lOJd, Maize : Little business doing at from 3s 8d to 3s fid per bushel. Butter: Prime dairies, prints, 8d to Is Id ; medium and inferior, 2d to 4d. Large quantities of inferior potted forward ; prime qualities, 6d to 7d ; inferior, Id to 3d per lb. Cheeses Very dull of Bale. A few prime lines brought 4d to 6d per lb ; other qualities, 2d to 3§d. Bacon : Town cured, 8d to 9id per lb. Hams: Town cured, lOJd to lid per lb. Adelaide, January 28.— Thirteen cargoes of wheat have cleared for this port during the month. Freights are now 35s per ton. Flour : Boiler made, £8 15s to £9 per ton ; superfine brands, £8 sa; ordinary sorts, £7 15s. Wheat : Quotations for shipping parcels (f .0.b.), 3s l£d to 3s 2d per bushel (bags aa wheat); farmers lots at Port Adelaide, 3s ; at out ports, 2s lOd (bags extra). Oatß, 2a 8d to 2s 10d. Barley: Malting, 4s 3d to 4s 9d, according to sample and quantity. Butter : Fresh, in brisk demand at an advance of 2d per lb ; dairy lines sell at lid to Is lid ; medium grades 8d to 10£ d; stale lots, 3Jd to 6d : potted, in 401b tins, 7d to 7jd. Cheese : Best large, 7£d to 9d per lb; loaf sorts, B£d to 9d; medium grades 5d to 7d. Bacon is in active demand. Best factory sides up to 9Jd ; middles, 10^d ; hams, lid per lb. Bbisbahb, January 2S.— Wheat, 4s 3d to 4s Gd per bushel. Oats have risen slightly, being now quoted at 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel. Barley has declined to 4s to 4s 3d. Bran and pollard, 5s 5d to 5s lOd per ton. Chaff : Oaten (imported), £7 10s to £8 per ton. Butter is quoted at 8d to 9d, and New Zealand cheese, 7d to 8d per lb.
