Tapanui.— The Under-secretary for Crown Lands wrote with reference to a number of sections near Tapanui, which it had been intended to open under the village homestead special settlement system. That system having been abolished, it was suggested that they might be opened as- email farm allotments on deferred payment.— Resolved to recommend that the land be opened as village and farm allotments.

Maxiototo.— John Forrester, on behalf of various Eweburn settlers, objected to the application of tho Nastbv Pastoral Company to purchase section 19, block X, Maniototo.- Objection to be forwarded to the district land officer.

Maungatua.— Allen Mann applied to purchase Si acres unsurveyed land adjoining section 18, block IX, aDd section 6, block XI, Maungatua.— Approved, subject to the survey and provision ior necessary roads giving access to back country. Nohth-Kast Valley.— W. "Wenlock, J. Reid, and Mrs M'Neil applied to purchase about 16 poles of an old road Hue adjoining sections ,43 and 48, NorthEast Valley.— Mr Reid wrote stating that he had not been able| to make an arrangement w Ith Mr Wenlock, aud he now requested the board to grant him the land.— Referred to the chief commissioner to obtain further information re survey, &c. Wakatipu.— District Surveyor Wllrnot forwarded the most practicable boundaries of various runs on their being released, and tho board decided to recommend their being reoffered for 14 years at the following rentals :— liuns 346, 14,300 acres; 346 a, 14,800 acres ; 34(3u, 10,000 acres ; and 14, 18,800 acres, at upset of Jd per acre ; Run 18, 43,700 acres at |fd ; aud Run 19, 33,500 acres at id. TigbrHill.-P. Morrissey, J. Pitches, P. Lee, W. Kelble, and others wrote objecting to W. Leask being granted a grazing right over section 5, block I, Tiger Hill, and asking that the section should be open to all.— Authority having been granted to Leask, the board declined to withdraw it a present, as a considerable portion of the reserve still remained for the Mse of other settlers.

Table Hlll.— Ths Government having accepted the surrender of Mr Sutherland's license over lands in blocks IV and VII, Table Hill, and the arrears haviDg been paid, the board fixed the new term at 14, years, and rent at (>d per annum. Highlay.— J. Morrison asked for a license for the reserve situated between sections 6 and 7, block 111, Highlay. He objected to it being granted to P. M'Leod. — Resolved to issue license to Morrison under tho Iteserves Act. '

Du.vedin and Bast Taieri.— The Chief Surveyor forwarded plans of subdivisions of bush reserve section 74, block VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri (now sections 74 to 80), part of which was recently applied for by Messrs Cumner, Callendar, and Orr.— This matter was allowed to stand over until next meeting. jeooLBURN.— Mr Pyke, for C. T. Beck, applied to purchase for ensh section 8, block XI, Poolburn, and Mr W. L. Simpson, for Peter Plannery, wished to be allowed to take up the land as a deferred-payment holder. — This nutter had been repeatedly before the board, and the proclamation declaring the land open under the deferred-payment system was revoked last October. The applications were declined.

Applications.— Mr W. L. Simpson, for William. M'Breeu, occupier of section 16, block V, Tiger Hill, applied for the grazing right over section 17, block IV, on usual conditions.— lteferred to tho chief commissioner.

Capitalisation was authorised in the case oi AlexTreesdnl**, section 7, block 111, Lauder. George Moore's application to ex change pastoral deferred payment sections 1 and 2, blocK IX, \Vhlpori, for as mall grazing run was recommend, d to th© Minister of Lands for approval. The application of the Public Trusteo to transfer section 18, block IV, Gimtnerburu, to Catherine M'Leod was approved.
