GRAIN REPORT.

Messrs Samuel Oeb and Co., Stafford street, report for the week ending July 20 as follows :—: —

Wheat.- The market for this cereal continues firm, and although sales are not large, millers are taking up all consignments now coming to hand. Prices remain much about the same as last week. Our quotations are : For prime milling 4s to 4s 2d, although Tuscan and red straw, which appear scarce, would command a little more ; medium to good, 3s 9d to 3s lid ; iuferior and fowls' feed, 3s 3d to 3s 7d.

Oata. — The market for these does not show much activity , although a considerable quantity is changing hands "for shipment and milling. Prices show no material alteration, although bright sorts are in far demand. Our Melbourne advices say that the market there "is slightly firmer and prices look on the mend." We quote for prime milling and heavy bright feed. Is B|d to Is 9fd; ordinary feed, la 8d to Is Bfd ; medium, Is 7d to Is 7f d ; inferior, ls.6d to Is 6|d. Barley.— The market for this is quiet, stocks being email and demand alight, and very little business doing. Prime malting we quote at 3a lOd to 4s Id ; medium to good, 33 fid to'3s9d; feeding and milling, 3s to 3s 6d.

Grass Seed. — We are still unable to report any transactions of importance, the demand being weak, and prices purely nominal. A fair demand exists for cocksfoot, although business is limited, buyers not caring to give prices asked— viz., for good clean seed, 4jd to sd ; medium, 3|d to 4d per lb. N.B.— We beg to announce to our numerous grain constituents that we receive consignments of wool, sheep and rabbitskins also, so that any sent will have every attention paid to them. We make this announcement through this source as many of our friends have been under the impression that we confined ourselves simply to grain and seeds.
