Lawrence Football Club v. School.
The above clubs tried conclusions for the first time this season on Thursday afternoon. The club won the toss, and elected to play towards the north goal. Joe Roscow kicked off, and for a short time play centred in the middle of the ground, when a splendid rush of the club forwards, headed by Arthur and Hart,, forced the School down. From the kick-out the School forwards, following up well, menaced the club goal; and Adams crossed the line for the Sehoool, but the try was not enhanced. After the kick-out a series of scrummages ensued until Roscow, from a long pass by Robertson, made & brilliant run and drew first blood for the club, and from the try he also kicked a gaol. In the second spell the School played with great dash, but notwithstanding their efforts, two more tries were recorded against them, and were converted into goals by Roscow. For the School Joe Roscow, Purdie, Murray, and Ellis worked very hard to avert defeat; and for the club Jack Roscow,, M'Lean, and Cavanagh were most conspicuous.
