Our Volunteers.
The usual monthly battalion parade took place in the Garrison Hall on Thursday (27th). The strength of the various companies represented was as follows :—
B Battery- 1 captain, 2 lieutenants, 4 sergeants, 1 trumpeter, and 23 rank and file. L' Battery— l captain, 4 sergeants, 1 trumpeter, 15 rank and file. Dunedin Naval Brigade-4 lieutenants, 5 petty officers, 24 bandsmen, 36 rank and file. Naval Cadets-1 lieutenant, 4 petty ofllcers, 24 rank and file.
Battalion Band— l sergeant, 17 bandsmen. City Guards— l lieutenant, 1 sub-lieutenant, S sergeants, 16 rank and file. North Dunedin Rifles -2 sergeants, and 17 rank and file. South District— l lieutenant, 1 sub-lieutenant, 3 sergeants, 10 rank and file. Wahari - 1 lieutenant, 1 sergeant, 5 rank and file. East Taieri Eifie3— l captain, 1 sergeant, and & rank and file.
City Guards Cadets— l lieutenant, i sergeants, and 21 ra>'k and file.
Staff— Major Jack, Staff-sergeant 11'Kay, Instructor Harrison, and Lieutenant-colonel Stavely in command.
