London, July 24th. The match Australia v. Northumberland resulted in an easy victory for the former, by an innings and 04 runs. The Home team scored 63 in their first innings and 35 in their second, making a total of 98, against 193 by the Australians. The bowling of the Australians was veVy effective. In the first innings of Northumberland, Palmer took six wickets for 21 runs, and in the second innings Garrett took five for 6 runs. Tho weather throughout tho match was fine. London, July 27th. The Austi&lian Cricketers commenced their

match to-day at Edinburgh against Eleven Gentlemen of Scotland. The weather was showery, and the wicket was consequently not in good order. The Australians went in first, and put together a total of 159. The highest scorers were Murdoch 58, caught; M'Donnell, caught, 17. At the close of the day's play the Gentlemen had scored 43 for the loss of six wickets. July 28th. The match was resumed at Edinburgh to-day. The weather was very fine. The Gentlemen having lost six wickets for 43 runs at the close of yesterday's play, continued their first innings. The remaining four wickets fellifor 24 runs, making a total of 67. Being 92 behind the Australians, the Home team followed on for their second innings, which closed for 74 runs.

The Australian bowling was dead on the wicket, Palmer in the first innings taking six wickets for 27, and in the second four for 39. Boyle in' the second innings took six wickets for 14. The Australians won the match in one innings, with 18 runs to spare.
