Messrs Gillies', Street, and Hislop report having .sold by auction, yesterday, section 24, block Vi, situated in Stafford street, Dunedin, with building thereon, to Mr Joseph Farra, for the sum of £2110 cash. Mr Bradshaw ra<» sold, on behalf of the Union Steam. Ship Company, the freehold and premises at the corner of Bond and Rattray streots, at present in the occupation of tbe Bank of New Zealand, foi the sum of £14,000. The purchaser is a Bond street merchant. The increasing value of property in the heart of the city ib exemplified in the Bale of tho Union S.B. Co.'s freehold and premises at the cornor of Bond and Eattray streets, mentioued above, The price jce&lleed C&lifiW) is at the rate of about
£170,000 per acre, tho *rea of the land sold being about one-twelfth of an acre; or, taking the Ratcrav street frontage, the price per foot 1 1 £1 73 with a depth of about 40 feet only. We have not taken the building into consideration, as it is understood that a new building will in all probability be erected.
