Cousols remain at par. New Zealand securities aro without quotable change. The market for Colonial breaclstuffs is quiet Australian tallow continues firm at last quotations. Accounts are now coming to hand that the Kentish hop crops are more favouiable, but reports from other districts show that the crop will bo very short, and extremely indifferent in quality. Galvanised iron, 26 gauge, remains at £17 15s. Best Sydney copra has advanced to £17 per ton. being an increase of 15s.
August Ist. In the House of Lords to-day the Arrears of Rent in Ireland Bill came up for consideration. In Committee, two vital amendments of the measure wore proposed by the Marquis of Salisbury, and, after a debate, were agreed to.
(Special to the Age.) London, August lßt. The chief amendment in the Iribh Arrears Bill applies to the question of settlement, which is to be non- valid unless the landlord is a concurring party.
