The death is announced of Mr Henry Kendall, the well-known poet and author, from phthisis ; aged 40. Adelaide, July 28th. Wheat has advanced 6d per bushel, and is now very firm at 7s. Flour has advanced^ 10s per ton— town brands, £14 10s ; country ditto, £13 10s. The freight market is stagnant, and no business is doing. July 31st. A company has been formed here with a capital of £750,000 to purchase the business of Hart and Co., Duffield and Co., Cowan and Co., and Morgan, Connor, and Glyde. The concern will be styled " The Adelaide Milling and Mercantile Company." The whole of the capital has been subscribed. Hobart, July 28th. The Japanese warship Tuchaba leaves Hobart for Auckland to-morrow evening.
