Messrs Gillies, Street, and Hislop report the sale (privately) of section 2IA, block I, St. Clair, containing 13 poles, for £100 ; and section 21, block 111, containing 16 poles, for £90.
Mr C. Chapman reports the sale from Mr Wm. Fraser to Robert Chapman, Esq., of section 21, block XXIV, Royal terrace, Dunedin, containing over quarter of an acre, with buildings thereon, for £1000 cash. Messrs Bastings, Leary, nnd Co. on Saturday sold by public auction sections 10 and 11, town of Merchiston, for £76 ; and sections 59 and CO, block I, Waikouaiti district (45 acres), for £135. Messrs Maclean and Co., on behalf of the Otaso Presbyterian Church Board of Property, on Tuesday disposed of the leaso for 14 years of sections 7 and 8, block VII, East Taieri district, containing 103 acres, to Mr John Taylor, of Taieri, at an annual rental of 2Ts po- acre. Council and Moodie report tho following sales of land by private contract: -Section 4(5, block XXXII, town of Dunedin, area one rood, to William Barron, E6q., M.H.R., at a satisfactory price. Sectisns 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 22, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 44, 45, 47, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, and 67, township of Rutherglen (Kaikorai Valley), averaging about 32 poles each, to Robert Glendining, Esq., price £27 10s per section. The Ashburton Mail reports the sale to Mr Grant, who was one of tho delegates of tho Lincolnshire farmers, of the Alford Estate (South Canterbury), comprising about 10,240 acres of freehold, with 12,000 sheep, &c.
