V.R.C. STEEPLECHASE MEETING. Melbodene, July 23rd. The Steeplechase meeting of tho Victoria Racing Club waa held to-day at Flecnington. i'he weather was fine, and there was a good atcendarci. His Excellenc the Governor was present. The following are the results of the two chief events of the day :— GRAND NATIONAL HURDLE RACE, A handicap sweepstake of 10 soys each, h ft., with 300 added. The second horse to receive 50> soys, and the third 25 soys out of the stakes. About three miles. Mr M. Winter's b h Dhurringle, 4 yrs, lOst 81b . . 3 Thirteen horses started, and it was a splendid raca, being won by only a neck. Time, 5 mm. 42 sec.
