THE BELLRINGERS.
The Lynch Family of Bellringsrs openad on Monday uight iv the Prinoess Theatre. They -have been in Dunediu before, but it is some> years ago. The entertainment has the merit of variety, for besideß the Bellringers themselves the troupe comprises a very fair baritone singer iv the person of Mr Sanllcy; a clemventriloquist ia Mr Lyndhur.'t, and an excellent pianiab in Mr Warde; while the members of tbe Lynch family are comic singers of no mean order. Taking the bells first, the most enjoyable performances were, perhaps, those ot the well-known "Coma home, father," and tho " Elfin Waltz." The former was particularly well executed, and a warm demand for its repetition was vainly made. A hornpipe tune, the " Soldiers' joy," was aI.TO woll received, the riogars keeping the most wonderfully correct iime, notwithstanding the v&pul changes thny hud to make upon tho bolls. A duet. "Homo, sweet hi me," Uy Mersca H. ;inrl 11. Lynch, may also Jie selected
for commondatioo. hlv Santley gave n, roally good rendering of the solo "Hocked in the cradle of the deep.'' He has a voice of considerable sweetness, particularly in the uppar register, with h, 'air amount of power, aid possesses alao a dis'incfc enunciation. He would have undoubtedly secured an encore for this enug undor more favourable circumstance* as regarded an audior,ce. The Lynch Brothers gave several highly- amusing comic songs in character Mr Lyndhurat, tho ventriloquist, give.n an entertainment much of tho charade? usually presented by/ artists ia his line. H« deceives to be ranked amongst the be'»t we have had in tliis city, and his " m' Try folko" aro v/cll worth listening to. Taken ftlUigeU-er, the Lynch Family provide a really good two hourb' recieaiioa, and we can in. oil conscience reoomoisad.a. vjiit,
