The size of the model is six feet by four feet, and three feet in height to the apex of- the mountain. There are altogether 40 large plates of | glass besides the uprights, and the contour of the surface is the exact shape o£ the ground. The lodes and veins of ore ' are boldly shown, painted in red, and the drifts are traced in black ink.
