MINE MODEL.
I A device for showing the character and j interior of mines has been "placed in the I United States Circuit Court-room, , in ;readiness for the 1 trial of the suit of the ■Richmond Mining Company of Nevada v. Ithe Eureka Mining Company, to deter- ; mine disputed boundary rights, which is j. expected to come on almost immediately | after the Court re-opensf or business. The \ model is made altogether of glass, and (represents the principal tunnels,- shafts, inclines, "ore chambers; &c, of the 3&ichjmond and adjacent mines in Eureka ; mining district, as they would 'appear if ; cut by horizontal and vertical planes, ' passing through Ruby hill at points" indicated by the glass plates upon a scale of 40-feet to an inch. The size of the model is six feet by four feet, and three feet in height to the apex of- the mountain. There are altogether 40 large plates of | glass besides the uprights, and the contour of the surface is the exact shape o£ the ground. The lodes and veins of ore ' are boldly shown, painted in red, and the drifts are traced in black ink. Every ; detail is distinctly marked, so that it' is i easy to gain clear knowledge of. all particulars. N. Wescoat, civil and .mining engineer of Nevada, made the surveys • and - he, ' assisted by C.
