The North Dunedin Cadets, under the command of Captain Copeland, fired their annual match on Saturday morning, and the JSTo. 1 Company, in charge of Volunteer Nightingale, competed later in the day. The respective scores were as follows :—: —

On Saturday last the members of No. 1 Company (City Guards) fired a handicap match at the Company's range, Wakari, for money prizes. The morning was all that could be desired for shooting. Some of the scores were very good, particularly that of Volunteer Welsh, who ran up the possible score of 28 at 200 yards, with an 8-inch buU'n eye. Several of the crack shots did not put in an appearance, or better totals might have been shown. The ranges were 200 and 500 yards ; Wimbledon targets ; seven shots at each range ; any position. The winner of the cup on this occasion is Vol. A. Frazer, who made the splendid score of /5 points out of a possible 84. This is (so far as we are aware) the highest score made in the Colony at these ranges. Vol. Lacey came next, with the very good score of 67 points. The ranges were 400, 000, and 600 yards, 7 shots at each range, aud any position. Second-class targets. There wore five prizes, in addition to the cup.
