In the absence of Mr Bastings, Mr J. C. BR.>WN moved :— " That an Address be presented to His H onour the Superintenucnr, requesting thai, a sum be placed on the Supplementary Estimates, for the purpose ot <dvi r g a subsidy of one pound to one pound upon all rates collected in up-country municipalities, to the extent of one shilling in the pound." Motion lost.
