DUNEDIN LABOUR EXCHANGE.
Weekly Report.—Number of applications entered in Employers' Application Book from 26th'October to 2nd November, 21. Number entered in Servants' Application Book for same time, 47. There were engaged: 22 female servants, 7 farm servants, 3 shepherds, 5 labourers, 1 coachman, 2 woolpaokers. Current rate of wages for ploughmen from L4O to L4sj female servants, from L3O to L 35;3 5; female cooks, L4O; labourers, 18s per week and found ; male cooks, 20s per week ; bullock drivers, 18s per week. The demand for country female servants is increasing, dairy maids being especially required. Shepherds for mustering are eagerly sought for. The demand for farm servants for six months' engagement is also good, m fact, beyond the supply; and the single men and women by the ship J. N. Fleming have met with ready engagements. There are a few married men with families who are still open to engagement. They consist of shepherds, ploughmen, and blaokBmiths. Farmers and station-holders in the country would do well to seoure them, as they are first-olass men. Colist Allan, Agent.
