THE STREAM.

Still flowing on with music, Ah me ! ». long ago, "When I, a child beside thee, Watch'd the fairy bluebells grow. Still rippling 'neafh the grasses Where hide 3 the sunny beam That dances o'er thy water, Oh silver- flowing stream ! My happy rears of childhood Are mirrored in thy gla^, I cannot look and leavo thee, Or as a stranger pass. For scarce so great a wonder My child -face there would seem, A child I play'd beside thee, Oh silver-flowing stream ! My little blue-eyed sister Would ofttimes stoop to see Her sweet face iv thy waters, That twinkled merrily. Her blooming cheek is faded, Her sunny hair is gray, But her picture iv the water Will never fade away. Sing me the tale thou knowest. Sing me the faded dream The world calls vain and foolish, Oh silver flowing stream ! M. S. ,
