date the Fifteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-five, and under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid, has been directed to me, Alfred Chetham Strode, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Central District, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and in differently, and in manner and form by lawprescribed, Three persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council for the Central District. Now, therefore, I, the said Alfred Chetham Strode, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Central District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Central District will be holden at the School-house, East Taieri, on Friday the Thirtieth day of November instant, at Twelve o'clock noon, for the purpose of nominating Three persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council for the Ceni tral District ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place on Saturday the first day of December proximo, at the School-house, East Taieri, aforesaid, the Voting to commence at any time I after nine o'clock in the morning of the said day, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day. Province of Otago to ivit. ■\jyHEREAS a Writ, under the hand of His Excellency Thomas Gore Browne, Esquire, Companion of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, &c, &c, bearing date the Fifteenth day of- September, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty-five, and under the Public Seal of the Islands of New Zealand aforesaid, has been directed t to me, Alfred Chetham Strode, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Tokomairiro District, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the Voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, One person to serve as Member of the" Provincial Council for the Tokomairiro District. Now, therefore, I, the said Alfred Chetham Strode, Esquire, Hetnrning Officer for the Tokomairiro District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of .the Tokomairiro District will be holden at or near the Residence of Mr. James Smith, Tokomairiro Plain, on Tuesday the fourth day of December proximo, at Twelve o'clock noon, for the purpose of nominating One person to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Tokomairiro District ; and in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates, or any of them, such Polling shall take place on "Wednesday the Fifth day of December proximo, at or near the Residence of Mr. James Smith, Tokomairiro Plain, aforesaid, the voting to commence at any time after nine o'clock in the morning of the said day, and to close at four o'clock in the afternoon of the said day.
