■ Miss Doris Monteith, of Wellington, is at present on holiday in Otaki. Sir Joseph Ward's condition remains unchanged. The family are remaining at Rotorua. Mr G. A. Monk was unanimously reelected County ehairmau, oh- the motion of Cr. Ryder, seconded by Or. Catley, at the annual meeting of the HoroMr. Cording, who acted as relieving stationniastcr in Otaki 22 years ago, is at present acting stationmaster, -Mr. Watt having been transferred to Nguruawahia. The death occurred on Saturday night of Mrs. Batten, of I'araparaumu. Alie funeral took place this afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Fox, of the Melanesian Mission, will arrive in Otaki to-mor- , row to visit his stepmother, Mrs. Fox, ! of Tasman Beach.
