CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly mooting oi" the Otflki Chamber of Commerce was held on Monday night at the Lyric theatre, and despite the heavy rain several members attended and indulged in interesting discussions. The President; , (Mr. A. E. Wellington) presided. After the confirming of the minutes the secretary reported that owing to not being aware of the altered time of the Otaki Borough Council meeting tin- Chamber's letter relative to the dangerous ccrner at the bench had not been diseitssell, while the Clerk had pointed out that the matter of excessive speed woidd be dealt with by the new (■>! .that the matter of improving Dunstan Street would email a considerable amount of money as the "dip" sugThe President reported that with Mr. Milhvard he ln:d attended the smoke concert given hv the Kit',. Brigade, and that had proved most enjoyable. It was a lino function, he said, spicndidly carried out, reflecting every credit on the promoters. On the suggestion of Mr. AVallingiou it was decided !,o forward a letter of appreciation for kindness extended A .letter was read from Mr. L. G. Louiy.
