The ballot for the Teviot runs and settlement lands tobk place last week. The total area opened for selection was 35.570 acres, which was divided into seyeu pastoral runs apd thirteen settlement areas. Stephen Wallace, Mount Linton, Nightcaps, was tho suocesstul applicant for Bun 642 (4580 j-acres) and Section 325. (551 acres 2 roods), there being 11 applioants. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London Oflice, dated. 22nd February, 1924, regarding Snjitbfield prices : " Owing to Dock and Cold Store strike supplies are restricted and' quotations are nominal. New Zealand lamb is selling at id and New Zealand mutton at Id higher than prices la9t week. A cable has just been received from its representative m Melbourne advising that the number of lambs exported from Australia during the fortnight ended the 22nd instant was 14,394 oarcases.
