HOW MANY?

Mr Moody concluded one of his latest mission services with a pathetic appeal to his hearers. Some years ago he heard of a poor mother who had an only child who was idiotic, and on the day when it was fourteen years of age a neighbor came m and found the mother weeping m the bitterness of her soul. She wanted to know what was the matter. The mother said :

"For fourteen years I have cared for that child day and night ; I have given up societv and have spent my time with her ; and to-day she does not know me from you. If she would recognise me once it would pay me for all I have ever done for her."

Then added the preacher; "How many are there over whom the Son of God has \yatched and cared for and blessed, and who have never once recognised Him, have never looked up into His face and said : ' Thank you, Lord Jesus ' !"
