HOLIDAY GAME OEO SUCCESSFUL Oeo defeated au Opunake eleven outright bv 10 runs on Saturday in a friendly holiday, game at the High School ground. Scores were Oeo 44 (C. Eliason 21 not out) and 95 ,(A. Hughes 43, C. Eliason 23) and Opunake 61 (T. Davis 30) and 68 (B. McLaughlin 18). The most successful bowlers were Holmes 5 for 25, 3 for 14 and C. SENIOR COMPETITION THREE TEAMS LEVEL Patea's defeat of Stratford over the week-end by 75 runs to 51 on the first innings has resulted in an interesting ~ position in the South Taranaki competition. Opunake, Stratford and Patea being 12 points eadh. Opunake defeated Patea comfortably earlier in the round but has yet to meet Stratford. The game takes place at Opunake "on January 17th. Good Rep, Performance Playing for South Taranaki against Victoria College during the week-end, W. Dormer gave a fine all round performance, scoring 46 in the first innings and claiming 2' wickets for 13 runs and 5 for 66. (off 19; overs). Dormer was an ex-Victoria College student. Saturday's Games The Opunake'Senior eleven will meet Okaiawa at Okaiawa on Saturday in the South Taranaki Competitions. .The team will be announced in Friday's issue but all players are reminded that regular practices commence from tonight at 5 p.m. The local competition will not re-commence until January 17th but a friendly match will be arranged and announced in Friday's issue,
