COMMITTEE ACTIVE ■ r SUCCESS ASSURED. Everything is going along splendidly ior die lour in annual cricket ball which is to be held in tlie Cpunake Town Hall on -Monday, January 21st. The first occasion on which this function was held several .yeans ago a record ciwd attended who were so delighted with the excellence of arrangements, that the club decided lu make it an annual affair. Each year further sue cess has followed, a very large number from all parks of i'a.-.r-uaki attending. Although many have held hit summer dancing is uncomfortable this theory lias been exploded twice this season already, for it is not necessary to wear evening dress and tic committee invite at 1 < < mors to put on summer g;n - meats, such as flannels and beach fiocks. The bright gi ugh a nos look just as dainty as one could wish, ami so llie <[u cslion of buying a new evening dress for the cricket ball can be forgotten. Hooker’s -Merrymakers Orchestra will supply the music—this will satisfy everyone who has had t lie experience of tripping if to file gay music of this popular band.
\W are informed that tlie lighting and decorations and alterations in the. main liall are to be quit e novel; something 1 entirely new—so on this point will keep silent, but feel sure the patrons will receive, a very pleasant surprise on entering the hall. Novelty dances, a perfect floor and supper, should see the cricket club’s efforts crowned with, success and the prices of admission having' been kept within the reach of all, will clinch this without any doubt.
